History and Renovation

In order to facilitate more private accessible bedrooms and bathrooms, an extension attached to the tower is planned. The castle is a Recorded Archaeological Monument (CO149-007----) listed in the national Sitesand Monuments Record, and as its curtilage is legally protected under the National Monuments Acts 1930- 1994. Thus all further development is under strict sur- veillance and scrutiny of National Monument and the Archaeological Department of Cork County Council.
